Cybersecurity Portfolio, Internal Security Audit

This portfolio item presents a simplified internal security audit completed as part of the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate. The project demonstrates my ability to evaluate an organization’s security posture, identify missing or insufficient controls, and summarize compliance gaps (PCI DSS, GDPR, SOC). As a UX/UI designer transitioning into Digital Health and cybersecurity, this exercise supports my goal of creating safer, more trustworthy digital products.

🎓 What I Learned From This Audit?

▪️Through this internal security audit exercise, I strengthened several foundational cybersecurity skills:

▪️Understanding how to evaluate an organization’s assets, risks, and security posture.

▪️Identifying missing or insufficient security controls (technical, administrative, and physical).

▪️Reviewing compliance requirements such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and SOC and recognizing where gaps exist.

▪️Summarizing findings clearly and prioritizing issues based on risk and impact.

▪️Formulating practical, beginner-level recommendations to improve security and reduce vulnerabilities.

▪️This project helped me connect cybersecurity concepts with real-world scenarios and reinforced the importance of secure design — especially in areas like Digital Health, where protecting user data is critical.
